What does “My Garden Design” cost?

Prices start at £445 and are based on the size of the space that you need designed. Also attached to each design quote is a recommended retail value which takes into account the time you will have spent gathering and uploading all of the relevant information.

As optional extras, MGD offers a professional survey service, planting plans and construction drawings should you need them. Designs are in a standard 2D format but 3D designs and walkthroughs are available for an extra (moderate) fee.

There are no hidden costs to My Garden Design. Your quote will clearly show the final price and any optional extras. That price won’t change unless you alter the garden measurements or add any extra services.

Can I request design changes?

Absolutely you can! In the terms and conditions of your contract with MGD you are allowed one minor alteration to the design.

What information do I need to gather before work can begin?

The My Garden Design service is based around a carefully structured information template. Once your payment has been received, you will be able to download a question sheet so that you can work with your client to define the design brief.

The answers to the questions will give our garden designers all the information they need to know to create a beautiful design that your clients will love, and that you should be able to build within their budget.

Having a template means that all information about the garden’s functionality and the client’s likes and dislikes, can be gathered in one “meeting” thus negating the need for many time consuming calls and visits.

As you would expect, the template also asks for details of measurements, levels, aspect and outlook. These can be taken by a representative of your company or, if you are short of time, you can make the most of our professional survey service. A qualified independent surveyor will visit the site at a time that suits your clients and carry out a full survey citing you as their client. At no time will My Garden Design be mentioned.

Photographs of the site and the surrounding area are also required. These will be kept safe at all times and never disclosed.

How do I pass information on to the garden designers?

Our user –friendly website has been expertly built to allow you to upload all of the information onto our secure server. You don’t need to be a computer whizz – in fact you don’t even need a computer. You can use your smartphone to upload pictures and measurements while you are on site!

Simply open a project folder and follow the instructions within.

You will see your design quote and be prompted to fill in any missing answers on the template.

When you are ready to start the process, make your payment, press “submit” and relax while our team of experienced garden designers work their magic.

I’m not someone who enjoys writing – can I phone the designer?

The system has been structured so that both you and the designer can share information in its simplest form. Once you start using it you probably won’t feel that you need to talk to the garden designer. However, we will pop a “request call back” button into each project folder so that you can let the designer know you’d like to chat.

What’s to stop my customers from being poached?

Everything that you tell the My Garden Design team is in complete confidence. We will not discuss your project with anyone else in the landscape industry. Neither will we contact your client unless we have your express permission. To protect you, our terms and conditions include a non-solicitation agreement.

All design documents and files will carry your company logo, contact details and branding. The design will be yours in every sense of the word.

Can you guarantee that your garden designs will be practical as well as beautiful?

My Garden Design has been developed by landscapers for landscapers. The CEO is an APL committee member with several award winning gardens to his name. Having had plenty of experience working with a wide range of clients and with several garden designers, our Director, Paul, is confident that this service offers good value for money and takes all of the hassle out of the designer-landscaper relationship.

All of our garden designers are fully qualified, highly trained and experienced. Mistakes are unlikely, but just in case, they’ll be quality controlled by an experienced landscaper before being emailed to you.

How will I receive my garden design?

Provided all information has been submitted, you can expect your garden design to land in your inbox within 15 working days of payment being received.

Once your design is complete and has been quality controlled it will be sent to you electronically. My Garden Design uses Sketchup to create and present concept plans.

We prefer to operate a paperless system as much as possible, however the MGD package offers one, A1 sized print of your design delivered to the address of your choice with extra copies available for a moderate cost. The emailed design will of course be print-friendly too.

When will My Garden Design be fully functional?

We are working hard to finish building our website and all being well, expect to start receiving information and creating garden designs from mid-June.
